Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma on Monday unveiled the final wrap of her upcoming film ‘Chakda Express’, based on the life of former India Women pacer Jhulun Goswami.
To mark the occasion, Anushka and her entire team had a very special guest when Jhulan himself came and celebrated the day on set. In a series of photos shared on Instagram by Anushka, the former India national Cricket team skipper was seen cutting a cake with the actor.
In early September, Jhulan played her final international match, where the India women defeated the English women to clean sweep win in the three-match ODI series.
Jhulan left the sport after playing 12 Tests, 204 ODIs, and 68 T20Is for the Indian women’s team. She took two wickets on her last appearance, tallying her ODI wickets to 255, the most for a woman cricketer.
“To my cricket family and beyond. The day has finally come! As every journey ends, my 20+ year cricket journey today announces my retirement from all forms of cricket. It ends with, as Ernest Hemingway said, ‘It’s good that work has an end. For me, this trip was the most satisfying. It was exhilarating, exciting, and adventurous to say the least. I have worn the Indian jersey for over 20 years and have the privilege of serving my country to the best of my ability.I feel proud every time I hear the national anthem before a game,” Jhulan had written on Twitter after retirement.

The movie is directed by Prosit Roy and produced by Anushka Sharma and her brother Kanesh Sharma’s Clean Slate Filmz.
